UI Lab API Lab Tasks

Alerts

The three kinds of browser alert, one that appears after a delay, and a pop-up that looks like an alert but is part of the page.

1. Browser alerts

2. A pop-up that is NOT a browser alert

Automate this

Write a Selenium test for each task. The answers are not on this site, so ask in class if you are stuck.

Easy · Click the simple alert button, read the alert text and accept it. Check the result line.
Medium · Dismiss and then accept the confirm box, and check both result lines. Send your name to the prompt box, accept it and check the result.
Challenge · Handle the delayed alert with a wait. Open the pop-up that looks like an alert but is not one: show that switchTo().alert() fails and close it with a normal click.
