UI Lab API Lab Tasks

Tabs and windows

This is the main window. Open the child pages, then switch between them with their window handles.

1. Links that open a new tab

Open child 1 in a new tab
Open child 2 in a new tab
Open child 3 in a new tab

2. A button that opens a new window

Automate this

Write a Selenium test for each task. The answers are not on this site, so ask in class if you are stuck.

Easy · Open child 1 in a new tab, print the number of open windows, switch to the new tab, read its title, close it and switch back.
Medium · Open children 1, 2 and 3, then loop over all window handles and print the heading of each child. Finish with only the main window open.
Challenge · Open the new window with the button, switch to it by its heading text (not by position), close it with the Close button, and use switchTo().newWindow(WindowType.TAB) to open your own tab on the Lab home page.
